Use templates to auto-fill a quote form with saved information. Templates can be set as a default for a specific quote form and will auto-fill information when the quote form is next opened.

Requester Information

Information for the person responsible for this shipment. Click Show Optional Fields to enter additional information. To add or change auto-fill information, update your preferences in My Profile.

Select your affiliation(s) with the shipment

  1. If sending freight, select Shipper.
  2. If receiving freight, select Consignee.
  3. If otherwise associated with shipment, select Third Party.

Select your payment terms

  1. If the shipper is responsible for freight charges, select Prepaid.
  2. If the consignee is responsible for freight charges, select Collect.

Enter additional contact information for the person responsible for this shipment.

Origin

Address and contact information for where shipment will originate. If Shipper was selected in Requester Information this section will automatically be completed with appropriate profile information.

  1. If sending to a stored contact/location click Choose from Contacts/Locations to find the appropriate contact/location in the pop-up modal.
  2. If sending to a new or unknown contact/location enter at least Country and Zip Code of origin.
  3. If dropping off shipment at the service center, check I will bring the shipment to the serving ABF Service Center

Destination

Address and contact information for where shipment will be delivered. If Receiver was selected in Requester Information this section will automatically be completed with appropriate profile information.

  1. If receiving at a stored contact/location click Choose from Contacts/Locations to find the appropriate contact/location in the pop-up modal.
  2. If receiving at a new or unknown contact/location enter at least Country and Zip Code of origin.
  3. If picking up shipment at the service center, check I will pick up the shipment to the serving ABF Service Center.

Third Party

Address and contact information for another party associated with shipment outside of shipper or consignee. If Third Party was selected in Requester information this section will automatically be completed with appropriate profile information.

  1. If third party is a stored contact/location click Choose from Contacts/Locations to find the appropriate contact/location in the pop-up modal.
  2. If third party is a new or unknown contact/location enter at least Country and Zip Code of origin.

Shipment Specifics

Pickup Date

Specify the requested day of pickup in the date picker. The date selected is for quoting purposes only and does not submit a Pickup Request.

Delivery Date

Specify the desired day of delivery. Delivery can be arranged for a specific date, before a specific date, or between a selected date range.

Freight

Describe the content, quantity, and dimensions of your shipment. 

  1. Select a Handling Type to identify how shipment is packaged.
  2. Enter number and dimensions of handling unit.
  3. If shipping a stored or known commodity, select Choose from Commodities.
  4. If shipping a new or unknown commodity, enter commodity information manually.
  5. Enter total weight of commodity for total number of handling units. 
  6. Select NMFC class or enter NMFC Item. If you have class-based or NMFC item-based pricing, these will need to be entered accurately for pricing to apply. To lookup an NMFC Item, click magnifying glass or Lookup Item #.
  7. If shipment is hazardous, select Haz.
  8. Provide a description of the shipment content.
  9. To add an additional commodity to handling unit, click Add Another Commodity.
  10. To add an additional handling unit, click Add Another Handling Type.

Additional Service Options

Select the service options required for proper shipment handling. 

Save As a New Template

To create a template, click Save As a New Template to see the quote results page.
Add a template name in the dialog box and click Save.
